Hello I'm Rebecca Field with today's UPI entertainment update on this Thursday, April 17, 2008. Britney Spears' friend Sam Lutfi is staying away from her for a few more months. E! news says the singer's former manager and confidante, didn't even show up to the courtroom regarding the temporary restraining order placed on him. Now the order has been extended until July 31. Lutfi has been barred from getting near the pop star since February…when Spears' mother Lynne accused him of drugging her and controlling her life. Bruce Springsteen has decided who he thinks should be Boss. The Singer is endorsing Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama for president. In a statement on his website, Springsteen says in his opinion Obama is head and shoulders above the rest. But Republican nominee John McCain shouldn't feel left out by the celebs…a few weeks ago he got a nod from The Hills star Heidi Montag. Obama's competition, Hillary Clinton has also received endorsements by stars like Barbra Streisand. Cameron Diaz is thanking fans for their love and support during her tough time. The actress's father Emilio died earlier this week of pneumonia. In a statement released through her rep, Diaz expressed gratitude to the public, and also said her Dad's spirit will always live on in her and her family's hearts. Stars hit the town in New York last night to support a good cause. Mary-Kate Olsen was at the New Yorkers for Children Gala…where the theme was New Years in April. Queer Eye's Carson kressley attended the event also, as well as actress Virginia Madsen. The Gala raised money to help implement more programs for needy children in the New York area. Meanwhile, in Las Vegas, another group of stars gathered for the premiere of the new thriller 88 Minutes. Al Pacino, who stars in the film was at the event. As well as other cast members like Leelee Sobieski and Alicia Witt. Former O.C. star Benjamin McKenzie is in the movie as well. The murder mystery flick is out in most theaters
