The fun-loving Kerbys, stockholders in the bank of which henpecked, stuffy Cosmo Topper (Roland Young) is president, drive recklessly once too often and become ghosts. In limbo because they've never done either good or bad deeds, they decide to try a good one now: rehabilitating Topper. Lovely, flirtatious Marion (Constance Bennett) takes a keen personal interest in the job. Will Topper survive the wrath of jealous ghost George (Cary Grant)? Will Mrs. Topper (Billie Burke) find that a scandalous husband isn't all bad?

When a nasty neighbor tries to have her dog put to sleep, Dorothy takes her dog Toto, to run away. A cyclone appears and carries her to the magical land of Oz. Wishing to return, she begins to travel to the Emerald City where a great wizard lives. The third of Hal Roach's famed "Topper" trilogy series, and in my opinon the best. Roland Young and Billie Burke with Jack Benny's manservant,Eddie "Rochester" Anderson make many laughs. Joan Blondell plays the beautiful ghost that causes so much trouble for Topper. I think there was a newer release in 1987 that may have been colorized and protected under copyright laws, this is the older B&W version considered to be public domain.

Starring Spencer Tracy, Elizibeth Taylor, Billie Burke, this entertaining movie tells the tale of a grumpy, soon-to-be grandfather who does not look forward to the idea. Spencer Tracy is great in this film.

Based on The Bride from Trieste by Ferenc Molnar, The Bride Wore Red stars Joan Crawford as the eponymous heroine. A singer in a seedy Budapest dive, Anni (Crawford) is mistaken for a socialite thanks to a practical joke perpetrated by the cynical Count Armalia (George Zucco). Though a bit confused about her new favored status, Anni happily hobnobs with the "best people" on the Tyrol, including handsome Rudi Pal (Robert Young), who falls in love with her. She manages to pull off her charade for two full weeks, at which time the Count callously reveals the truth. Rudi Pal gallantly offers to marry Anni anyway, but she settles for a happier -- if less financially advantageous -- union with humble village postman Guilio (Franchot Tone, Crawford's husband at the time). When all is said and done, The Bride Wore Red is essentially a showcase for MGM's wardrobe department, with Joan Crawford garbed in a variety of gorgeous gowns, each one more dazzling than the last.
