My tribute to MY FAVORITE FEMMES FATALES IN CINEMA. In this video you'll find the most evil, conniving women in cinema history; some pretty girls that can't tell the difference between right and wrong; a lot of mysterious, cold ladies that have a bad smoking habit; and other dangerous creatures, not necessarily bad, but the kind of woman that can manipulate a man without him realizing. Some slightly crazier ladies like Kathy Bates in "Misery" or Glenn Close in "Fatal attraction" are not here, I save them for my next video (Mad Females). MUSIC (in order of appearance): -"Minnie the Moocher" by the Blues Brothers, -"Nature boy" by Miles Davis, -"Baby did a bad bad thing" by Chris Isaak, -Several tracks from the score of "Dangerous Liaisons" by George Fenton, the score of "Basic instinct" by Jerry Goldsmith and the score of "U Turn" by Ennio Morricone, -"Something wicked this way comes" by Barry Adamson. FEATURED DANGEROUS LADIES: Brigitte Helm as Maria in "Metropolis" (1927) Marlene Dietrich as Lola in "Der blaue engel" (1933) Mae West as Tira in "I'm no angel" (1933) Mary Astor as Brigid in "The Maltese Falcon" (1941) Barbara Stanwyck as Phyllis in "Double indemnity" (1944) Gene Tierney as "Laura" (1944) Lauren Bacall as Slim in "To have and have not" (1944) Rita Hayworth as "Gilda" (1946) Lana Turner as Cora in "The postman always rings twice" (1946) Lauren Bacall as Vivian in "The big sleep" (1946) Rita Hayworth as Elsa in "The Lady from Shanghai" (1947) Jean Simmons as Diane in "Angel face" (1952) Simone Signoret as Nicole in "Les diaboliques" (1955) Kim Novak as Madeleine / Judy in "Vertigo" (1958) Sue Lyon as "Lolita" (1962) Faye Dunaway as Evelyn in "Chinatown" (1974) Kathleen Turner as Matty in "Body heat" (1981) Jessica Lange as Cora in "The postman always rings twice" (1981) Nastassja Kinski as Irena in "Cat people" (1982) Sean Young as Rachael in "Blade Runner" (1982) Daryl Hannah as Prys in "Blade Runner" (1982) Catherine Deneuve as Miriam in "The Hunger"

The widely popular American adaptation of Fritz Lang's dystopian masterpiece, "Metropolis"

Metropolis is a silent science fiction film directed by Fritz Lang and written by Lang and Thea von Harbou. Music by Gottried Huppertz. Lang and von Harbou, who were married, wrote the screenplay in 1924, and the story was novelized by von Harbou in 1926. It is set in a futuristic urban dystopia and examines a common science fiction theme of the day: the social crisis between workers and owners in capitalism. The film stars Alfred Abel as the leader of the city, Gustav Fröhlich as his son, who tries to mediate between the elite caste and the workers, Brigitte Helm as both the pure-at-heart worker Maria and the debased robot version of her, and Rudolf Klein-Rogge as the mad scientist who created the robot. Metropolis was produced in Germany in the Babelsberg Studios by Universum Film A.G. (UFA) and released in 1927 during a stable period of the Weimar Republic. The most expensive film of its time, it cost approximately 7 million Reichsmark to make. The film was cut substantially after its German premiere, and there have been several efforts to restore it.
