Episode 9 - My Lucky Day December 5, 2002 Elliot's been having a rough time since her father cut her off financially, forcing her to give up her apartment. J.D., Turk and Carla go over to her place to give her moral support. To make matters worse, her patient, Mr. Bragin (Alan Ruck), is suing her for malpractice because her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and only having eight months to live turned out to be wrong. At the hospital, Dr. Cox and J.D. are assessing a patient. Dr. Cox thinks he has cellulitis. After watching a TV special the night before, J.D. suggests that he may have flesh-eating bacteria disease, which is commonly confused with cellulitis. In a rare moment, Dr. Cox's diagnosis proves to be wrong. J.D. revels a little too much in getting one over on Dr. Cox. Later they are each assigned two male patients with the same identical ailment. Dr. Cox decides to make this a contest of sorts, to see whose patient will get better. After sneaking a peek at Dr. Cox's chart, J.D. is happy to see that they are both using the same course of treatment. He gets a big shock when Dr. Kelso informs him that his patient has died. He checks with the pathologist to see what caused his death. Nothing turns up. Carla, upset to see Dr. Cox back with Jordan (Christa Miller), decides to tell him that he should re-think his decision to be with her. He of course doesn't take this advice well and tells Jordan her comments. In her usual caustic way, Jordan lets Carla have it. But after she finishes her speech, she doubles over in pain. The amniocentecis procedure she had earlier in the day triggered her premature labor. Feeling guilty for causing her possible injury, Carla checks to see how Jordan is doing. She observes her and Dr. Cox in a rare, tender moment. She realizes that she doesn't really know what happens in their private moments. She later apologizes to her.

Episode 2 - My Nightingale October 3, 2002 The residents become very excited when a televised car chase comes to a dramatic end with the car crashing in the hospital parking lot. Excited to be in the middle of the action, Elliot (Sarah Chalke) gets to treat Officer Berson, one of the cops who was admitted with chest pains and Turk (Donald Faison) treats the driver of the car. Meanwhile, Dr. Kelso (Ken Jenkins) is due to receive an award from the hospital board. He asks Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) to present the award to him and give a wonderful speech about his accomplishments, but Cox declines. Later, Jordan (Christa Miller) shows up at the hospital. She and Cox have one of their usual rendezvous, this time in an (almost) empty patient room. Carla later tells Cox that although he won't admit it, he still has feelings for Jordan, and that he even probably watches her while she sleeps. Cox strongly denies having anything but a strong sexual urge for Jordan. As the day turns into evening, the interns are left in charge because most of the staff is attending Kelso's awards banquet. Then, the pagers of all three doctors go off. They freeze for a moment until Carla (Judy Reyes) convinces them that they can handle whatever comes their way. The weirdest cases seem to get admitted that night, but everyone handles their load well. However, the condition of the previously admitted Officer Berson changes slightly. All of the interns decide that they will wait a few hours to see if he improves. He doesn't. Surgery repairs his condition and he's back on his way to recovery. Cox is supposed to be at the banquet, but he is instead at his house, watching Jordan sleep. When she wakes up he goes to get her a cup of water, from the fountain at the hospital. While there, he confers with Carla about his feelings for Jordan. Upon returning to Jordan, he finally admits that he still likes her. In her usual way, she shoots him down cold, saying that unless he's changed, getting back togethe

Episode 1 - My Overkill September 26, 2002 In the aftermath of Jordan's (Christa Miller) revelations, everyone is estranged from each other. But slowly, they begin repairing their relationships. Meanwhile, a mysterious troubadour - guest star Colin Hay of Men at Work - appears throughout the episode supplying a musical interlude. After Jordan revealed that she slept with J.D. (Zach Braff), he expects the worst from Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley). However, Dr. Cox is indifferent towards J.D. and the situation, which J.D. finds worse than anger. J.D. is assigned to Mr. Zerbo, a patient who is also a major hospital benefactor. The patient has visited several different departments and has undergone many tests, but no one is able to figure out his illness. In all the relationship confusion, J.D. ends up not doing any research on Mr. Zerbo's symptoms. However, doing nothing was exactly what Mr. Zerbo needed to be cured. Elliot (Sarah Chalke), embarrassed by Jordan's revelation about her lingering feelings for J.D., is avoiding J.D. at all costs. J.D. finally confronts her and suggests that they sleep together in order to figure out their feelings for each other - but she turns him down. Carla (Judy Reyes) is angry with Turk (Donald Faison) for not telling her that Dr. Cox was in love with her. She believes that Turk should feel that their relationship is strong enough to withstand it. One relationship that not been affected is that between J.D. and the Janitor (Neil Flynn). After some time, all estranged relationships return to normal.

Season 1 Episode 24 My Last Day (Season Finale) May 21, 2002 It's June and the interns are one day away from becoming full-fledged residents. They're excited, but there is something else in the air. Carla (Judy Reyes) and Turk (Donald Faison) are arguing about dating other people. Elliot (Sarah Chalke) finally rebels against being everyone's doormat and J.D. (Zach Braff) is just trying to stay out of people's way. Adding to the weirdness is Jordan (Christa Miller), who has returned to get a physical. A new patient, Mr. Bober (Don Perry), has been admitted because he needs his gall bladder removed. He really needs the surgery, but doesn't have the insurance to pay for it. They enlist the help of Dr. Cox, Dr. Wen (Charles Chun) and Jordan. The two doctors agree, but Jordan needs some coaxing. After one of their regular conjugal visits, Cox tells Jordan that although he is still attracted to her, he is in therapy to not be attracted to abrasive and hard women like her. Although she puts up a front, Jordan is very hurt by his comments. When the board meeting convenes, they vote to allow Mr. Bober to have the surgery. Although she helped Mr. Bober get his surgery, Jordan leaves a final bombshell with the group - revealing everyone's secrets about one another. She tells Carla that Dr. Cox is in love with her and Turk has always known about it; the job Dr. Kelso offered to Cox doesn't exist; Elliot still has feelings for J.D.; and the final bomb - she and J.D. slept together. Hurt, confused and angry, each person goes their own separate way.

Season 1 Episode 23 My Hero May 14, 2002 Ben (Brendan Fraser) takes the news of his leukemia diagnosis pretty well. But it's his sister Jordan (Christa Miller) who is having problems dealing with it. Also having a problem is J.D. (Zach Braff), who, unaccustomed to developing close friendships with patients, is not sure what to do. Remarkably, it is Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) who is the voice of reason and compassion. That changes when Ben starts his chemotherapy treatments. Cox said he would stop by and visit, but he is nowhere to be seen. After he and J.D. have a talk, Cox puts aside his own fears and goes to see Ben. The chemotherapy treatments work better than expected and Ben goes into remission. Meanwhile Turk (Donald Faison) and Elliot (Sarah Chalke) have their own issues to deal with. Turk is upset because he wasn't chosen to assist on a difficult surgery. It's a serious blow to his ego when he realizes that he isn't the number one intern in the department - "smack your hand until it bleeds" Todd (Robert Maschio) is. Elliot is criticized during rounds by Dr. Kelso (Ken Jenkins) for the 100th time. But this time he gives her a chance to critique his work, anonymously. Instead of writing it herself, she has Carla (Judy Reyes) write the review to give it more of an impact. Carla writes a scathing attack on Dr. Kelso. But the joke is on Elliot when she finds out that no one else was asked to turn in an evaluation.

Season 1 Episode 22 My Occurrence May 7, 2002 Dr. Cox's (John C. McGinley) friend and former brother-in-law Ben Sullivan (Brendan Fraser) is at the hospital to have a two-by-four removed from his hand. Ben is Jordan's brother (Christa Miller), but he sided with Cox in the divorce and they've remained good friends every since. Later, Turk (Donald Faison) and Elliot (Sarah Chalke) run into close calls with their patients. Turk almost removes a testicle from the wrong patient and Elliot tells her patient Jill (Nicole Sullivan), who was hospitalized a while ago for a nervous breakdown and exhaustion, that she's pregnant. Unfortunately, she and her fianc? haven't slept together yet. It turns out that the lab switched urine samples, so she really isn't pregnant after all. J.D.'s (Zach Braff) patient unexpectedly turns out to be Ben himself. Ben's hand wound begins to bleed while he, J.D., and Dr. Cox are hanging out at a bar playing pool. This raises a red flag with the doctors. Dr. Cox runs some tests at the hospital the next day. J.D. gets the test results back - it's Leukemia.

Season 1 Episode 11 My Own Personal Jesus December 11, 2001 It's Christmas Eve and the holiday season produces mixed feelings in everyone. J.D. (Zach Braff) is feeling a little down about having to spend the holidays in the hospital and then Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) asks him to videotape the birth of his friend's, The Wheelers, baby. Elliot (Sarah Chalke) is spending her holiday in the free clinic dealing with Meredith, a pregnant young woman. Turk (Donald Faison) is very spiritual, even quoting Bible verses, but eventually he is overwhelmed by all of the sick and injured patients coming into the hospital. With his faith in question, Turk loses all joy for the holiday. Carla (Judy Reyes) tries to cheer him up, but has little success. Dr. Cox is definitely not in the holiday spirit when his ex-wife Jordan Sullivan (Christa Miller) returns to torture him. And his mood gets worse when he finds out that J.D. messed up the videotaping of the Wheelers baby's birth. Further adding to the situation, J.D. later finds out that Dr. Cox and Jordan once had a child of their own that later died. J.D. even makes the janitor (Neil Flynn) angry because he somehow manages to wreck or destroy every Christmas display the janitor had put up. After being on the roof trying to sort things out, Turk suddenly sees a glint of light in the distance. It's the lights from the Christmas tree in the park. He runs to the tree and finds Meredith, the missing pregnant girl, in labor beneath the tree. The rest of the gang joins him just after Meredith gives birth to a boy. In a fantasy scene, the whole group is transformed into a nativity scene - Meredith is Mary holding the Christ child; Turk is Joseph; men with their dogs are shephards with their sheep; Carla and Elliot are angels and J.D. remains in his scrubs. The safe delivery of the baby and the importance the moment restores everyone's faith.
